The C4 Dynasty heat-shrink TD sleeve label features complex brand design with high levels of detail and a highly technical layer of combination printing with 10 colors, combination coatings, crisp-dot screen work and two types of holographic foiling. McDowell also won first place in the Heat-Shrink TD Sleeve-Label Category for the container decoration.
Other competition winners include:
Environmental Contribution Category Winner: French converter Sleever International was recognized for its new LDPET (low-density polyester) food-grade shrink-sleeve labels for three flavors of San Pellegrino Essenza Waters. The clear label film keys into its use with the product’s PET bottles for a nearly “no-label” look that aids in the recycling process. It is said to be an industrial-scale example of the circular economy for shrink labels.
Certificate of Merit: Polish converter Masterpress S.A.’s luxurious heat-shrink TD sleeve label for Prestige Grand Prix Limited Edition Vodka features high-quality, hybrid-printing technology. In keeping with the Grand Prix theme, the label has a soft-touch, rubber-tire tactile surface in deep, matte black.
Certificate of Merit: Fast Track Packaging of Guelph, ON, Canada, was honored for its Impériale Choco Noisette Stout Beer labeling. The complex, layered printing of the heat-shrink TD sleeve has a metallic look without using metallic inks because it works with the metallic surface of the underlying aluminum can.
