ProAmpac to shutter El Dorado Paper Bag Manufacturing operation by year's end
El Dorado Paper Bag Manufacturing Co. will close by the end of the year, according to a representative with ProAmpac, which purchased the company in 2021, according to a report by the El Dorado News-Times.
El Dorado Packaging, before it was purchased by ProAmPac in 2021, owned the El Dorado facility along with facilities in Nebraska and Minnesota. Few details were offered by the company related to the closing of the El Dorado facility, which employs from 85 to 100 people.
"As our business has continued to grow, we've recently looked at our capacity across the manufacturing network and determined that, geographically, we can better match our capacity to our customer base. We are confident this is the right choice for our business, as we will be better able to meet our partner and customer needs while ensuring a more efficient use of our resources without interruption to production," ProAmPac wrote in an email to the News-Times.
ProAmpac plans to assist current El Dorado Paper Bag Manufacturing employees as the facility prepares to close.
