A path change with TIME, such as breaking loose on a single misaligned roller, will pose all four of the above risks and then some. The ‘some’ could include running the web off the edge of the rollers, getting the web off of the sweet spot of the process (center), the need for more trim to be removed, poor roll edge quality, the loss of color-to-color print registration and on and on and on depending on your process.
Every roller is misaligned to a degree. Do you know what your threshold of pain is? If not, did you know you can calculate it with your thumbs with the free and easy Wrinkle Predictor by AbbottApp (that does more than predict wrinkles)? Did you know that you can determine it experimentally in a few minutes on your own line?
It does not matter how many times you get a roller right. ALL that matters is how many times you don’t.
