August will be history month here.
This first clip is more than 30 years old. While espousing that stresses were key to understanding web handling and winding was not unique at that time, the delivery absolutely was. It was the very first time animation was used for a technical presentation anywhere in our web industries. This was in the days of 35-mm slides and when color was just starting to appear on (non IBM PC) computers. Animation was rendered using a cell-animation program on a Commodore Amiga (the first personal computer with graphics co-processors). I had to take the entire bulky computer setup into a TV-station studio to have it taped, because I did not have that type of equipment. Also, hired a radio voice to read the script.
Next week, we will show web-handling issues that can only be explained with animation.
