Manufacturer Brings Sleeve Technology to Green Bay
Rol-Tec has purchased Sleeve Solutions and is moving the manufacturing operation to Green Bay, WI. Sleeve Solutions of Crystal Lake, IL is a producer of precision fiberglass sleeves used in flexographic printing and coating operations. Precision Fiberglass Sleeves are used as a base for rubber covering or printing plates and are designed to speed job changes in printing and coating applications.
“Sleeve Solutions has been a long time valued supplier to Rol-Tec and is widely recognized as the highest quality tapered and parallel sleeve manufacturer in the world. We are proud to have them as a part of our team,” Matt Umentum, President of Rol-Tec said in a statement announcing the deal.
Rol-Tec will sell the sleeves under the Sleeve Solutions brand name.
The entire Illinois manufacturing operation will be moved to Green Bay by the end of January, 2016. Four jobs have been created to fill the production needs but Umentum anticipates up to ten additional manufacturing jobs will result within the next twelve months. Moving the people and technology to Green Bay will allow Rol-Tec to speed finished product to Rol-Tec’s end customer. “We will cut at least seven manufacturing days to finish a laser engraved rubber covered sleeve to our printing customers. In the printing industry where lead times are continually getting tighter, one week is a big deal. We are now the only company in the world able to provide this complete product all from one location,” Umentum said in the statement.
Sleeve Solutions has over thirty years in tapered sleeve manufacture and design. Along with tapered and parallel sleeves for covering, the line includes conductive sleeves to dissipate static charges as well as ground sleeves used in plate mounting applications. Steve Barker, former President of Sleeve Solutions, will stay involved to smooth the transition and to ensure the product technology and quality remain intact. Barker said, “Rol-Tec has a reputation for the highest standards of quality, technology, and service. I think these two companies coming together are a perfect fit. I’m thrilled that we were able to make this acquisition a reality and the Sleeve Solutions name and quality product will remain in the marketplace.”
