In 2000, Tom Druk was established to produce self-adhesive labels. With its modern infrastructure and high-end services to customers - which it can support from the development of the graphic design to the finished label – the company has since built a solid and reputable business. The company’s capabilities cover an increasingly wide range of label applications produced on three existing BOBST narrow-web inline flexo and multi-process printing and converting lines.
“We take pride in equipping our factory with the latest technology which enables us to increase our turnaround speed, deliver consistent high quality and a sensible reduction of waste," says Tomasz Wolak, CEO of Tom Druk. "We want to make sure we can continuously extend the range of substrates we can handle, as well as the added-value finishing applications that are required today by the high-end label industry, such as laminating, cold stamping, holograms, lacquering, as well as all sorts of die-cutting shapes. "
The partnership with BOBST, which began with the acquisition of the first 6-color machine about 10 years ago, followed by the installation of a second 8-color and third 10-color presses, worked to both parties complete satisfaction. So much so, that when Tom Druk decided to further expand its capacity, it did not hesitate to turn to BOBST.
“We were impressed by the machine performance highlighted by the demonstrations on the M5X,” adds Wolak. “Furthermore, BOBST offers the REVO 7-color extended color gamut and digital flexo process, which we are considering to equip the M5X with in the near future. It also gives us confidence that we can rely on the support of REVO academy in Florence, alongside a local service that has been good throughout the past years."
The BOBST M5X is the latest optimized configuration of the very successful M5 line and it perfectly fits Tom Druk’s specification for a press able to handle unlimited substrate types; from unsupported film to self-adhesive stock, through to paper, lamitube, alu-foil and light cardboard. This is very important for Tom Druk whose production serves a great variety of market segments including cosmetics, food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, automotive, electronics, with a variety of label types and shapes including decorative and security labels, foil labels, bottle wrappers and multilayer coupons to name but a few.
