The new polyester capabilities will be located at the Americas HQ in LaGrange, GA, with a startup expected for early 2019. The two new film lines are expected to have a combined capacity of 65,000 tonnes/yr. Investment for the project is about $120 million. Both thin and thick specialty films will be produced.
"We are very excited to introduce the plans to expand into polyester film in the Americas," says Marcelo Passos, exec vp & CEO of JFA.
As JFA initiates its plans, Jindal Films Europe is considering a similar expansion in its region.
