The Technology Center is a separate building on the Green Bay Packaging campus and opens Sept. 1. MPS is displaying a 10-color, 17-in., EF multi-substrate flexo press equipped with UV/LED, hot-air dryers and a large number of different converting options.
“We are very excited to open a state-of-the-art North American Demo & Applications Technology Center together with Green Bay Packaging,” says Kees Nijenhuis, vp-MPS Systems North America. “In our new Technology Center, we are going to show our potential customers something special, that is why we have decided to install a 10-color, 17-in.-wide EF press with all the bells and whistles. The EF is our automated multiple-substrate press and future proof press platform. In the center, we are going to show our potential customers what is possible when we push the limits when it comes to productivity, flexo-print quality and flexible converting.”
The new Demo & Applications Technology Center is part of the local organization of MPS in North America, which includes local press manufacturing, technical consultancy, sales and marketing. Most importantly, MPS Systems North America has established local service offerings that include spare parts programs and US-based technical assistance.
Green Bay Packaging is looking forward to this development on its campus. “Having a state-of-the-art flexographic press available for print testing will be a tremendous addition to our product development efforts,” adds Marty Olson, Green Bay Packaging senior vp. “In addition, offering visiting customers the opportunity to see our material convert will enhance tours of our facilities.”
