Show management reports exhibit space is filling fast as suppliers from across the industry reserve booths and make machinery commitments for the TechshopTM, which simulates a working production shop floor where technical sessions are taught on-press throughout the three-day event.
The 2017 Odyssey has confirmed the exhibit space for industry leaders such as AmeriKen Die Supply, Carton Craft Supply, Bobst North America, Adams Technologies, Associated Pacific Machine, Brandtjen & Kluge and Therm-O-Type, among many others. “With eight months before the Odyssey show floor opens, we’re excited to see so many companies stepping up to be a part of the event,” explains Cindy Crouse, IADD executive director. “The value these companies will bring to the attendees is tremendous in terms of the new technology exhibited and the knowledge base they can share.”
Programming details also are solidifying, with an emphasis on production improvements and problem-solving. In addition, a new track will be added in 2017: Special Skills Workshops will target apprentices and newer employees. “It’s critical that our industries address the skills gap that will occur as our current workforce retires,” says Crouse. “These workshops will allow companies to send younger employees to learn from the experts who are already assembled for Odyssey.”
