“Patent Law Fundamentals for Business and Technical Leaders,” a FREE, one-hour seminar will be offered by Converting Quarterly during PACK EXPO International / CPP EXPO 2010. Set for Tuesday, November 2, the program will run from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon in McCormick Place East, Room E-451.

Presented by ExxonMobil Intellectual Property Attorney Bob Migliorini, the seminar is a primer in US patent law. The concise yet thorough program will cover the fundamentals of the patent procurement process including inventorship, invention documentation, searching for patents related to an invention, patentability requirements and applying for a patent in the US and abroad. You’ll gain a detailed appreciation of the importance of patenting in developing a leadership position for your company in both business and technology.

About the Author

Bob Migliorini, an in-house intellectual property attorney with ExxonMobil Corp., counsels clients in patent preparation, patent prosecution, patent opinions and technology contracts. He has worked for 20 years as a plastics engineer in compounding, extrusion, orientation and coating of fiber and films. Bob holds 14 US patents related to coextruded films for packaging and labeling applications, and has an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology, a JD from Quinnipiac University School of Law, and an LLM in Intellectual Property Law from Franklin Pierce Law Center.

My Thoughts: As our first packaging- and converting-industry technical seminar/Webinar/conference, etc., the “COVER YOUR ASSets” presentation is timed and located to benefit professionals across the entire supply chain. That includes providers of converting raw materials and machinery, packaging materials and machinery, as well as brand owners and packaged-goods makers. Heck, anyone visiting either show that day at McCormick Place. So, come and learn the basics of protecting your latest invention.

Will there be a digital version of this seminar available for those of us that will miss this?
